The attractions of thematic investment

For now the portfolio continues to ease ahead of the World and UK Indices which are my benchmarks. I greatly prefer global thematic investment over specifically geographical allocation, because I can relate to themes more easily than to countries or regions. The second attraction of themes is absence of overlap.

I've become interested in a new company called Rize, which has chosen to specialise in the kind of themes I like - what I would call ESG. Rize presently offers four different themes: Cyber Security, Education Tech, Medical Cannabis & Bioscience, and the Sustainable Future of Food. All four have less than a year's history, so I can't yet offer you data. This morning I sold my lowest performer (it'll be different for each of us): in its place I bought the Sustainable Future of Food. Always willing to confer if you'd like.
